How accurate are the satellite positions?
Positions are calculated on your iPhone from real orbital data with the SGP4 model. With fresh data the error is a few kilometres. It grows as the data ages; the app warns you when the data is several days old.
Why can't I see a satellite?
The app tracks about 575 satellites (Earth observation, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, weather, radar, science, space stations and Türkiye's satellites). Make sure the group is switched on in the Layers panel. If a satellite is missing, write to us.
Why does the app ask for my location?
Only for the "Find next pass from my location" feature, once. Your location never leaves your device. If you don't allow it, the rest of the app keeps working.
Will a pass time actually be visible in the sky?
Passes are computed against the geometric horizon (0°). Whether a satellite can be seen with the eye also depends on sunlight and weather.
Does it work offline?
Yes. It uses the last downloaded data and shows a warning when the data is getting old.
Where do the facts and pictures come from?
Facts come from CelesTrak and Wikidata, pictures from Wikimedia Commons. The credit for each picture is shown under it and on the "Image credits & sources" sheet.
If you notice a wrong fact, a wrong picture or a missing satellite, please reach out at the email address above.
